All houses in the complex are different in their own way. So were their owners. The Renaissance Gabrovian house is beautiful and comfortable. It is a two-storeyed wooden building with large awnings under stone roofs. The facades are whitewashed; some of them acquire either blue or copper nuances.The spacious verandas and premises help you to immerse into an atmosphere of coziness and warmth.

The museum exposition displayed on 7 hectares, consists of 47 sites - buildings, housing craft workshops, water-supplied technical installations places of public importance. They reveal the economic development of Gabrovo region during the Renaissance - second half of XVII - XIX c. This is the perfect time for realisation of the undertaking and resourceful Balkan-Gabrovian.
All 16 displayed models reveal the variety of the Renaissance Balkan architecture. On the first floor of the houses, as was the custom in the past, one can view the Renaissance crafts. This enables the visitor to watch the process of working out items, to acquaint himself with the technology and ingenious appliances, to talk with the master and keep forever the unforgettable experiences together with a hand-made knife, wooden bowl, copper coffee-pot, colour pitcher, silver bracelets, Gabrovian motley carpet, painted icons, wood-carved iconostases, as well as various herbs and balsams.

Guests can enjoy their stay at the hotel complex STRANOPRIEMNITSA (Tavern) providing 83 beds, a restaurant, an inn and a day bar at visitors' disposal.The Balkan wooden home at the beginning of the museum houses the Renaissance tavern, famous for its buns and various national dishes.
